John McCloud Obituary

John Royce McCloud Sr. SUFFOLK - "Mac" McCloud, Sr., 73, departed this world to a heavenly home at his family's home in Elkton, Va., June 14, 2009. He was born in Roper, N.C., and owned a construction business. He had served in the Navy Reserve and his great joy was gardening. He left behind his wife of 45 years, Pat McCloud; six children, Pamela Aldrich and husband Larry of Elkton, Cheryl Stockstad of Orlando, Fla., John Royce McCloud Jr. of Elkton, Stanley McCloud and wife Linda of Elkton, Jennifer Huckaby and husband Craig of Ashburn, Ga., and Jeff McCloud and wife Joyce of Auburndale, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, Jeremy Aldrich and wife Lindsay, Shawn Aldrich and wife Melissa, Senor Royce Stockstad, Colt McCloud, Nichole McCloud, Amanda Huckaby, Ashley Huckaby, Leigh Huckaby, Brooke Huckaby, Jeffery McCloud Jr. and wife Jennifer, Jessica McCloud and husband Jerry Pacheco and Jared McCloud; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Edward McCloud and John Hayjesse McCloud; a sister, Jon Ann Herbert; special friends, Libby, Mike, Ann, Chris and Megan Bezek. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Shawn McCloud; and his parents, John and Ann McCloud and brother, John Oscar McCloud. In accordance with his wishes, a funeral will be held at noon Thursday, June 18, in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Lisa Blackmonson with burial to follow in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, June 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. Mac had many friends and a great love of life. He was an inspiration to many, he always knew how to make you laugh. He will be greatly missed. Condolences may be made to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
