Joseph A. Scalco IV

The light in this world grew a bit dimmer on June 6, 2023, as Joseph A. Scalco, IV, 50, suddenly left this earthly world for his eternal home. His infectious smile was always certain to light up a room and his heart of service was a constant example. He will be missed, loved, and forever remembered by many family, friends and friends who became family, but especially by the loved ones for whom he provided a firm shelter in this life, including, his wife, Vonda W. Chappell; his son, Owen F. Chappell, together with his wife, Sarah; his mother, Marie C. Scalco, and his father-in-law, Frederick E. Ward. Joe was a master of many things, a perfectionist in all that he did and often the first call in times of need. He took great pride in his family, his work and the home he and Vonda built together. He will forever be in our hearts.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. at River Oak Church, 255 Great Bridge Blvd, Chesapeake with Pastor Heath Burris officiating.
