Joshua Thomas Reichard, 27, passed away on Saturday July 29, 2023 after a 4 year courageous battle with cancer. A native of Chesapeake, VA, he was born on March 6, 1996. Joshua was a Civil Engineer and had graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. It was while at ODU that he met his future wife. Growing up Josh was an avid boater with the Hampton Roads Sail and Power Squadron where he served as Flag Lieutenant under three different Squadron Commanders. He always helped his Dad with their boats, Blazing Saddles and Partnership. During underway periods he loved to go into his stateroom in the bow, and "Get Air' as the yacht crested over the waves. Later he became involved in camping and in 2010 joined his parents and grandparents in what would become known as The Epic Western Adventure, visiting many vacation destinations over a 5 week vacation. Active in Jolliff United Methodist Church, he took active roles within the church participating in the church's youth group, community outreach programs, and various Mission Trips assisting with home restorations. Josh grew up liking to build Lego sets, he fell in love with the Star Wars franchise as well as everything Harry Potter. He proposed to Chloe in Baltimore, MD on the paddle boat dock, while properly outfitted with bright orange Life Jackets and was later married on June 4, 2021. Josh was always the gentleman and friend to others, helping when he could and always put others before himself. Josh had various jobs from being a short order cook to working on the Highway 64 High Rise Bridge expansion.
Joshua was a beloved husband to Chloe Blondin, a loving Dad to his son, Everett Joshua Blondin, and an extraordinary son. He is survived by his loving wife and son, his parents, Thomas and Sharen Reichard; an aunt, Kathy Kirkpatrick; three uncles, Bryan Shrout, Gregory Zechman and Mike Kirkpatrick; a great aunt, Bertha Coffman; and many extended family members and friends.
