Leigh Pulley Obituary

Leigh Ann Peebles Pulley, age 63, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Leigh Ann was born in Norfolk to Donald R. and Dorothy J. Peebles. She was a proud alumna of Oscar Smith High School and the University of Virginia. Leigh Ann had a long and varied career using her degree in nursing. For the last 25 years, she worked for Bristol Myers Squibb as a territory business manager.

Leigh Ann met her husband, best friend, and soul mate, Randy Pulley, in 1978. They married in 1980 and their union was blessed with two sons, Randall, Jr. (Kari) of Chesapeake, and Daniel (Lauren) of Eufaula, Alabama. She adored her grandsons, Caleb and Evan Pulley, and her great granddaughter, Holland. Leigh Ann is also survived by her brother, Ray Peebles (Monica) of Atlanta and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Leigh Ann was predeceased by her precious daddy, Donald R. Peebles, Sr., her grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Leigh Ann loved the Lord Jesus Christ and sought to glorify and honor Him in all she said and did. She came to realize that her illness was a gift that led her to be closer to God and to her family and friends. She was so grateful for all the generosity bestowed on her family. The family would particularly like to thank Kari Pulley, Kathy Hasty, and the '77 Tigerettes for all they did to make Leigh Ann's illness more bearable.

A celebration of Leigh Ann's life will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 1:00pm at Raleigh Heights Baptist Church in Chesapeake. A reception will follow the service in the church social hall.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society, Crisis Pregnancy Centers, or Raleigh Heights Baptist Church.

Simply Cremation assisted the family and burial will be private.

Hello I just learned today of Leigh Ann´s passing. I was privileged to work with both her, and her mother in law Judy Pulley, at the Chesapeake Health Department in the late 1980´s and early 1990´s where we were nurses. Leigh Ann was a steadfast friend and I enjoyed her sense of humor and admired her love of her family. Rest in Peace lovely lady. My heartfelt condolences! Susan Taylor Davis San Diego, CA

My deepest condolences to Leigh´s family and friends. She glowed when talking about her family, & I´m sure she was a dynamo at home, as she was at work.
She had a great personality and laugh! She was staunch in her beliefs, whether spiritual, moral or political, and lived life `out loud´. As her work colleagues, we often celebrated her birthday with her during our January meetings. Leigh was a very special and genuine person, and will be very missed.

I was blessed to work with Leigh for a few years, some years back. Whenever I hear her name the first thing that pops in my head is her smile. That is certainly quickly followed by her faith and her love and caring for others. Not far behind follows her sweetness and kindness. Such a genuine person, always uplifting and sincere in her conversations and interactions. I will certainly miss her and I wish and pray the best for her family and all her friends.

Leigh was always such a delight to be around. She made work meetings fun just by bringing her vivacious spirit in the room with the rest of us! She was well loved by her peers and her loss is palpable. Much sympathy to you all, her precious family; she spoke of you often and with so much pride. I know that heaven is an even brighter place with Leigh´s big beautiful smile there and that she will be watching over each of you. Thanks for sharing her with all of us at BMS. She was a treasure.
