M. Evelyn Baggett

Suffolk - M. Evelyn Baggett, 95, of Suffolk ,VA passed away March 7, 2015. She was born in Nansemond County, VA to the late Ellie H. and John W. Baggett, Sr. She was also predeceased by her sister, Helen Hollowell. Evelyn was a graduate of Whaleyville High School and Madison College, and spent most of her adult life in Wilmington, DE working for DuPont. She was also a member of Great Fork Baptist Church. Evelyn is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, John W. Baggett, Jr. and Ernestine Baggett; niece, Joy Hofler and husband, Jimmy; and nephews, Douglas Baggett and wife, Vee and Dennis Baggett and wife, Connie. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Great Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, 180 Great Fork Rd., Suffolk, VA 23438, with Dr. Donald Jones officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. Memorial donations may be made to the Great Fork Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Mrs. Marion Carter, 1710 Colonial Ave., Suffolk, VA 23434.
