Margaret Respass Obituary

Margaret Respass CHESAPEAKE - Margaret Ann Shea Respass, 76, peacefully went to join her oldest daughter, brothers and sister in the comfort of her home Feb. 17, 2010. "Maggie" was born Jan. 23, 1934, and raised in Portsmouth. She enjoyed volunteering for the American Red Cross Blood Mobile for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Portsmouth Women's Moose Lodge, loved to travel and play bingo. Margaret was overjoyed by her surprise 76th birthday party, it was "the biggest birthday party I've ever had." She adored her great-grandchildren; it was their smiling faces and love that made Grammy happy each day. She is predeceased by her parents, Georgie Etta and Frank A. Shea Sr.; her sister, Marjorie Engram, brothers Frank, Doug, Joe, and David "Ankie" Shea and daughter, Mary Jane Fularon. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband of 57 years, Guy Respass Jr.; brother, Robert Shea Sr. (Elsie), sisters-in-law, Lorraine, Charlotte and Josephine Shea; children, Dennis E. Respass, Richard A. Respass (Christy), Susan A. Satcher (Kenny), Donna M. White, Danilo F. Fularon and Jackie Moseley (Garland); grandchildren, Shelly Wood (Brandon), DJ Fularon (Melissa), Guy Respass (Gina) Chad and Lacey Satcher, Katie White, and Joseph and Trinity Beal; and seven great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Snellings Funeral Home, 1144 George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake. A service will also be held Saturday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with interment immediately following at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Red Cross of Temple Baptist Church, 1322 George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake, VA 23323.

I somberly regret that I could not attend the funeral because of an injury myself, but Margaret will surely will be missed by myself and my children. I have had the joy of knowing Margaret for 10 years. I distinctively remember giving her a garden flag because she liked mine and the look on her face was priceless. She will never be forgotten. My prayers are with Mr. Respass, Dennis, and the rest of her family. May god be in your hearts forever! Love, Kelly Ferguson, 2205 Wildwood Road, Chesapeake, Virginia, 23323
