Margaret Simmer

Margaret V. Simmer SUFFOLK - Margaret Virginia Simmer, 92, of the 800 block of Craig Drive, passed away March 1, 2011. A native of Portsmouth, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Mary Ann Outten and the widow of Woodfin Simmer. She retired from General Electric. She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda S. Gwyn of Suffolk and Gloria Henry and husband John of Portsmouth; three grandchildren, Robert F. Pablo Jr., Bene' Lynn Matthews and Christine Hudson and husband Richard; five great-grandchildren, Robert, Jay, Nicole, Chelsie and Amber; and two great-great- grandchildren, Aiden and Alexander. A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Olive Branch Cemetery by Dr. Paula Lippard Justice. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 119 S.
