Margarette Pfitzer Obituary

Margarette E. Pfitzer VIRGINIA BEACH - Margarette Elizabeth "Peggy" Pfitzer, born Oct. 13, 1922, passed away peacefully at home June 13, 2011 surrounded by family. A native of Cincinnati, she was born to the late Harry and Mamie Leming Weeks. She and her husband, Harold G. Pfitzer, recently celebrated their upcoming 63rd anniversary. Along with her husband, she leaves two daughters, Karen Franklin and husband William Franklin of Virginia Beach and Barbara Jones and husband the Rev. Steven Jones of Carthage, Miss.; and a son, David Pfitzer of Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Niederhofer and husband Merle and sister-in-law, Lucille Kibler all of Cincinnati. A kind and gentle woman, Peggy was content to be a stay at home mother. As a seamstress she spent most of her time sewing for family and friends. She was an avid sports fan following baseball, tennis and golf. During her younger years she bowled in leagues here in Virginia Beach. Upon her husband's retirement they enjoyed traveling. She loved gardening and was a collector of stamps. She will be truly missed by family and friends. A funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, with the Rev. Steven Jones officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the American Heart Association.
