Marjorie Elkins Hoeflein

Marjorie, of Chesapeake, VA, received her heavenly wings on November 28, 2018, at the age of 89. She is survived by her husband, George Hoeflein, of 19 years; children, Linda Szerszenski (Ted), Glenda Elkins, Brenda Myers (Larry), Benny Elkins, and Janie Sawyer (Lee); grandchildren, Sherrie, Major, T.J., Danny, Angela, Chris, Luke, Anna, Melissa, Zach, and Ben; and 19 great-grandkids. Marjorie was predeceased by her first husband, William “Bill� Elkins of 46 years. After her retirement from the commissary she worked as a hostess for Hardees. She was also a hostess for several years at the Annual Virginia Gospel Singing Convention, and enjoyed being a part of the DAV with her husband, George. Marjorie loved life, her family, and helping others. She was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching the little ones, singing in the choir (at home and in the car), and attending church functions. A special thank you to Mary Paul, Megan Cannon, NP, Dr. Eleanor Deguzman-Berube, and Kindred Hospice for the loving care during the last few years of her life and for always treating her like family. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Hwy. Chapel on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 12 to 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m., followed by interment at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
