Family-Placed Obituary


LAWLESS, Richard 79, peacefully slipped into the arms of Jesus in his home Thursday, October 27, 2005 surrounded by his loving family. After fighting a courageous battle of lung cancer, he now has received his reward in heaven. Richard was a loving husband, Dad, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 61 years, Margarette; three children, Martha Scott of New Carlisle, Barb (Jack) Grimm of St. Paris and Marty (Donna) of Centennial, Colorado; six loving grandchildren, Kim Sprinkle, Jack (Anne) Grimm, Jr., Machael (Todd) White, Todd (Monica) Grimm, Teresa (Jim) Stephenson and Missy (Shane) Fitch; 11 dear great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Casey Sprinkle, Joshua and Dylan Stephenson, Caitlyn, Cody and Cameron White, Jenna Fitch, Mackenzie and Madison Grimm and Brayden Grimm; one brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Sue Lawless and one sister, Betty Locker. He retired in 1987 so he and Marqarette could spend their time traveling, which they were able to do up until his time of illness. His most cherished memories were spending time with his family at the Ohio River, fishing and golfing with his grandsons and great-grandsons. Our family would like to offer a special "thank you" to our loving and caring friends at Hospice, Sue, Lynn, and Sherry and physician Dr. Marvin Narcelles for their wonderful care and support they gave to our Dad. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. a gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the JONES KENNEY ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. His celebration of life will be held at the North Hampton United Church of Christ on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jim Welsh. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community/Mercy Hospice Society, 2600 North Limestone, Springfield, Ohio 45503 or North Hampton Church of Christ, 105 North Main Street, North Hampton, Ohio 45359. Interment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery with Jack Grimm, Jr, Todd Grimm, Casey Sprinkle, Joshua Stephenson, Dylan Stephenson and Cody White as pallbearers.
