Mason Sheets Obituary
Suffolk - - Mason Connor Sheets, 6, gained his angel's wings on March 25, 2015. He was born in Suffolk on December 19, 2008. Mason was the most generous soul that anyone could have met. He would freely give compliments to make a day special, he would draw pictures and give them as gifts straight from his heart. He would give what money he has found to the first person he sees. Mason loved collecting rocks, dancing whenever he hears music. He loved The Flash, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, wishing on a wishing star and giving the longest best hugs you could ever, ever imagine. Mason loved his little dogs, playing on his iPad, going to school, learning to play basketball and baseball. Mason touched every single person's life in such a positive way that can only be described simply as amazing. You will forever been in our hearts.
Mason is survived by his parents, Derek T. and Pinky Sheets, older loving brother Jake Tyler Sheets (8) of Suffolk, Va.; maternal grandfather, Arturo Sangalang of Velajo, Ca; paternal grandparents Thayer and Betty Sheets of Yorktown, VA; Uncle Aristotle and Aunt Marian Sangalang of Chicago, IL; Uncle Thayer and Aunt Charlene Sheets; cousins Emerson and Morgan Sheets; Aunt Sharon and Uncle Cliff Sander of Toano, VA; Aunt Mary Brink of Chesapeake; Uncle Steve and Aunt Liane Folsom of Suffolk; dear sisters, Cydney and Taelyr Folsom; and his little girl dogs Harley, Bambi and Casey.
The family will receive friends on Sunday March 29th from 4:00pm-5:00 with the services beginning at 5:00pm in Sturtevant Funeral Home, 2690 Bridge Road, Suffolk, VA 23435. Reception immediately following at Roger Browns Restaurant and Sorts Bar in N. Portsmouth.

I was friends with mason in kindergarten and I was to young to understand but I knew I lost a friend it´s been 7 years and I can not imagine how much of a great person he would be today.

Mason is the sweetest boy I´ve met in my life. I met him in a class where I was brought to he introduced himself to me and asked me to be his friend..I was very pleased cause I didn´t have much friends when I was little.. yet it´s been 6 years now...I still think about him once in a while.

My prayers are with your family during this difficult time. Please let your faith be your guide and know that Mason is part of God's greater plan. It is obvious that Mason had touched more people in his short life than many people do in a lifetime. Mason's legacy will last forever through the many wonderful memories he was an essential part of, and I pray that it is those memories that will forever consume and embrace you. I was never blessed with the rewards of getting to know Mason like many others, but I did cherish the opportunity of getting to know him better through all his family and friends, and more importantly, while watching Mason live on through his brother Jake at the reception. I pray that God bless and watch over your family during this trying time.

It is with so much grief that I write this. Nothing on this earth is as precious as your child. Hang on to your wonderful memories of a very special little boy. I so feel for Jake - he is so young and it must be very confusing and lonely for him. Derek, Pinky, Jake, all of you hang together and comfort one another. Mason has a very special beautiful lady up there who will look after him, love him, and make sure he is okay until that day when you will be reunited.
