Mireille Liedl Obituary

On December 23rd we said Au revoir to our beautiful Mum, Mireille J. Liedl who was born 89 years ago in Nice, France. Her loving husband, Bernard M. Liedl predeceased her on November 19, 2020. They had a love story that was readily apparent to anyone who met them. They were still kissing and holding hands at 61 years of marriage. We are comforted by the thought that they are together again.

Her children will dearly miss her, Carole Donovan, Maureen Ringo (Tony) and Philippe Liedl (Jenn). She was a grandmother to Kyle (Hayley), Collin (Morgan), Lucas, Elysia (Dylin) and Logan. Great grandmother to Elijah and Bowen. She is survived by her sister Therese Herrmann, niece Carol and predeceased by her parents, Jean and Caroline Fiardo.

Mireille left her native Nice, France with her husband, "Buck" and lived the life of a military wife moving to various states and living in Saudi Arabia. We always marveled at how she was able to make a home wherever they were stationed.

She was a homemaker and volunteered with the American Red Cross for years at Little Creek Amphibious Base. Her faith always gave her comfort and strength. She was a parishioner of St. Pius X Church for many years, and more recently Holy Family Catholic Church. She still enjoyed mass the past 2 years virtually.

She loved various games and puzzles and her competitive streak would come out in countless games with her kids and grandkids of Rummikub, that we all will miss playing with her.

She was a woman of strength and beauty and never would leave her home without being dressed to the nines and make up on. At 89 she still amazed us with how she lived her life. Nous T'Aimons Mere!

There will be a private ceremony for immediate family at Rosewood Memorial Park in the near future.
