Myrtle Pearson
Norfolk - Myrtle Fry Pearson, 96, died Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Autumn Care in Norfolk. She was a native of Portsmouth, Va. and was the daughter of the late William Henry Fry and Virginia Estelle Fanear Fry Homes.
She retired from the Norfolk Naval Air Station, Accounting Department after 25 years service.
She was a member of St. Pius X. Catholic Church in Norfolk and a former member of St. Pauls Catholic Church in Portsmouth. She was a member of the Stella Maris Cenacle, Missionary of Cenacle Apostolate, Nocturnal Adoration Society and the Ocean View Ladies Golfing Association. She was predeceased by her son John Richard Pearson and brothers Waverly Fry and Frederick Alfred Fry.
Survivors include her niece and nephews; Norma Fry Jaqua of Chesapeake, Dr. Robert Waverly Fry, M.D. of Nags Head, N.C., Dr. Richard Melvin Fry, PhD. of Apex, N.C., and Alfred Emmett Fry of Chesapeake and numerous great nieces and nephews and her dear friend Maureen Bruno.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, in St. Pius X. Catholic Church with Father Nixon Negparanon officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until Mass time. A reception will follow the Mass at the church with burial in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth, Va. at 2 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Norfolk Chapel is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at hdoliver.com
