Neil Bradley Obituary

Neil H. Bradley Sr. NORFOLK - The Rev. Neil H. Bradley Sr., 89, died Feb. 11, 2010 at Bon Secours De- Paul Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1920 in Lowell, Mass., the son of Henry W. Bradley Sr. and Emma E. Bradley, nee, O'Neill. He joined the Vermont National Guard in 1938, and in 1939 entered the U.S. Navy. He served 20 years in the Navy as an aviator and an electronics officer. He retired as a lieutenant in September 1959. After retiring from the Navy, Neil attended the Baptist Seminary in Texas, later founded the East Peacham Baptist Church in Vermont, where he pastored until his retirement. He was a Mason, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, an Eastern Star, a Silver Eagle, and a 50+ Year member of the Grange. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances S. Morris and his brother, Henry W. Bradley Jr. Survivors include three children, Marion E. Bradley and husband Henry K. Smith Jr. of Chesapeake, Neil H. Bradley Jr. of Norfolk and Gary H. Bradley and wife Marianne of Ohio; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be June 1 at 1 p.m. at the Union Baptist Church, 932 U.S. Route 5, St. Johnsbury, Vt. Burial will follow in the Peacham, Vt., Village Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Burrows Memorial Baptist Church, 1539 Johnstons Road, Norfolk, VA 23518.
