Norman Cote Obituary
Portsmouth - Norman Amos Cote, Sr., passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016. He was the widower of Susie Cote who died two weeks ago. Their 68th wedding anniversary was November 25. He was the loving father of Marvis Dynda and her husband Peter; his son, Norman Cote, Jr. and wife Nancy; four grandchildren, Brian (Jessica) Dynda, Suzanne (Steven) Wollman, Sharon Dynda and Kelly Cote; four great grandchildren, Sami Dynda, Steven, Scott and Savannah Wollman; and his sister, Cossette Wiedenwroth. He is predeceased by his brothers, Francis and Leon ; and his sister, Jane. He will be dearly missed by all.
Norman proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a printer and retired from the Virginian-Pilot after 30 years. He loved bowling, golfing and gardening. He and Susie also liked fishing, bingo and traveling. He was a communicant at St. Therese Catholic Church in Chesapeake.
Special thanks goes out to the wonderful staff of Beth Sholom Village in Virginia Beach for their love and care of dad in his last year and a half. Also to the Emanuele family; his niece, Sharon Girardi; and friend, Rose Page for visiting faithfully.
A funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Monday, November 28, at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Beth Sholom Village.

Again it is with deepest sympathy that I offer my condolences to Norman and Mavis. Again I remember conversations at the backyard fence, also bowling at Pin-BoysYour Mom and Dad were good people and will always be a fond memory of mine.
