Patsy Sue Moore Newell
Chesapeake - 18 May 1937 - 20 October 2012
Pat was born to Roy Nivens Moore and Courtney Lee (Smith) Moore on May 18, 1937. She was raised on the Roy Moore Dairy Farm four miles north of Clinton MO, and had a delightful childhood. She was surrounded with cats, dogs and ponies amid creeks to explore. Her love of animals was always a part of her life and a treasured dog was always a member of the family.
Pat graduated from the old Washington Grade School and the Clinton High School Class of 1955. She attended Missouri University and worked in Kansas City at City Service Co. headquarters and at Westinghouse Electric. During that time, a roommate introduced her to a handsome, charming Nebraska guy, Richard E (Dick) Newell, who went on to become a Carrier pilot for the US Navy. For Pat, adventure beckoned her and she discovered excitement and glamor in the airline industry. She became a Continental Airlines Stewardess. Her love of fashion and her classic good looks drew outside attention, and Pat found she was frequently called on to model professionally - both before and during her marriage.
Pat married her Naval Aviator, Dick, on April 9, l960 in the Wayfarers Glass Chapel at Portuguese Bend, CA. Together, they served their country in Los Alamitos and San Diego CA, Albuquerque NM, Quonset Point RI, Key West FL and Norfolk VA. Pat lovingly and skillfully managed home and family during long overseas deployments and cross country moves and her decorating skills were evident in each of their homes. Every house displayed her unique, artistic flair that made them all a family home.
Recognized for her talent in the arts, Pat also loved to dance, play the piano and sing, frequently performing in numerous church choirs. Although gifted, she was a hands-on devoted Mom to their sons, Mark and Richard, choosing not to pursue career opportunities as a model and vocalist.
Pat and Dick worked successfully together as realtors after Dick's retirement from the Navy. Their love and commitment to each other knew no bounds. In 2010, on their 50th anniversary the couple celebrated their lives together and renewed their wedding vows. Pat wore her original wedding dress and looked as beautiful as she did 50 years before. Dick's total devotion in caring for his bride during her long illness was infinite.
Pat was pre-deceased by her father and mother, as well as her brother, Chester Lee Moore and sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Paul) Moore. Survivors include: Husband, Richard E (Dick) Newell, Sons, Mark R Newell, wife Patricia and Richard E Newell II, Grandchildren, Ryan, Austin, Crystal and Tyler Newell, Sister, Anne Marshall and many nieces.

She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
