Pauline Skelton Obituary


Pauline W. Skelton CHESAPEAKE - Pauline "Wanny" Wood Skelton, 71, went to be with our Lord Oct. 10, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Travis and Katie Wood and the widow of Dwight "Sonny" Skelton Sr. She is survived by two daughters, Sheryl Pennington and husband Larry and Susan D. Skelton, all of Chesapeake; a son, Dwight L. Skelton Jr. and wife Jamie of Amherst, Va.; and six grandchildren, Cameron, Skyler and Caleigh Pennington, Samuel and Dwight Skelton and Trey Gordon. Pauline was the founder and owner of Deep Creek Country Day School from 1986-2005 where she was fondly known as "Ms. Pauline." She loved and treated each child as her own. She was a member of Bible Believer's Church in Deep Creek and also attended Believer's Church in Western Branch. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Rev. James V. Stuart will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Olive Branch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to a favorite charity or Feed the Children. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.

Sherry and Susan,

I am so sorry to hear about Pauline passing away. She was such a blessing to us all!! She was like a grandmother to Kelly and Matt and like a mom to me at our years at Deep Creek Country Day School. God Bless you both! I am so grateful that she was in our lives.

I am sorry for the delay in my response. I bumped into Cake today.
