Peggy Flora Obituary
Zebulon - Peggy Rountree Flora, 70, of 5001 Country Day Drive passed away on November 19, 2012 at Wake Med. Peggy was born on November 14, 1942 in Portsmouth, Va to the late William M. Rountree and Ola Mae Worrell Rountree. She graduated from Campbell University and retired from Wake County Public Schools. Peggy taught in Zebulon and Wendell Elementary Schools.
Funeral Service at 3 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2012 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 with Reverend Matthew S. Dinkins officiating.
The Flora family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m. and also at the home of Janet Flora.
Graveside Service at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 24, at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, 4569 Shoulders Hill Road, Suffolk, Virginia 23435. Surviving children include, Gregory Lee Flora and wife, Jennifer of Zebulon Christopher Thomas Flora and wife, Erin of Maryland, Janet Lynn Flora of Knightdale; grandchildren Spencer Lee Flora Elizabeth Lorraine Flora Benjamin Michael Flora
Brother, William R. "Ronnie" Rountree and wife, Jean of Lucama.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by a nephew, Jeffrey Rountree.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2418 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC 27607.

I remember Ms. Flora as one of my absolute favorite teachers from zebulon elementary. She always had a pack of nabs and a diet drink in tow and I always loved it when she sent me to the fridge to grab her soda :) God bless your family as you remember your mom during this time.

I remember Ms. Flora as my teacher and Girl Scout troop leader. She taught the Gifted and talented classes so I remember always doing fun things when I got to spend time with her in the classroom. Ms. Flora, Ms. Troutner and Ms. Wessson I remember fondly during my time in Brownies/Junior Girl Scouts - going camping, cooking over a fire, staying in a cabin, etc. They were wonderful women I looked to when I was little. Ms. Flora was a lovely caring woman who impacted many children. She will be dearly missed.
