Portia Boone Obituary

Portia Boone
Portsmouth - Portia Lee Boone, 63, of Morris Street, died on March 27, 2012. She was born in Norfolk County and was a retired bus attendant for Portsmouth Public Schools. She was a member of Rehoboth AME Church, Chesapeake and was a member of Post 190 American Legion, where she held the office of Sargent of Arms and a member of Club Depor.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Beaulah Creekmur and Winnie Lee Creekmur. Survivors include three daughters: Joann Deberry (Larry), Margaret Creekmur and Andrea Stitt (Rodney); two sons: James Boone (Crystal) and Michael Carraway; twelve grandchildren: Leslie Arnold, Shekida Green, Antonio Creekmur, Valin Creekmur, Damonte Worrell, Hakeem Creekmur, Portia King, Rodney Stitt Jr., Cylil Harrison, Tiara Boone, Mariesha White and Tamara White; 17 great grandchildren and other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 2 at 11 a.m. at Corprew Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Steven Johnson presiding. Burial will follow in the Copeland Family Cemetery. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.
