Reginald Mahoney Obituary
Reg was always drawn to the water, from the Kanawha River in West Virginia to the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean. His passion for boats, whether building them or riding on them, was not only a career at one time, but a lifelong hobby. Being on the water just made him happy, a trait he passed on to his children.
Reg was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Melissa.
A devoted father and husband, Reg is survived by his wife Kathleen and his children: Morgan (Shey) Mahoney and his wife Lauren of Virginia Beach, his daughter Kelsey Sayre and her husband Brett of Suffolk and his step-son Ryan Christie of Virginia Beach. He is also survived by his sister Marylin Slaughter and his five grandchildren who brought him profound joy: Shawn, Hailey, Sloane, Wesley, and Ivy.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Oct 14, 2023 at Princess Anne Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Reg's life at Lynnhaven United Methodist Church following the graveside service.
Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
