Richard Christensen

Richard W. Christensen CHESAPEAKE - Richard Wayne Christensen, 38, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Jan. 11, 2008. He was a native of Deep Creek, moving to Ohio 10 years ago, where he was a welder by trade. Richard loved fishing, hunting, sports and restoring cars. He was also a gymnast who had competed on the state level. He was a very loving and giving man who lived his life to the fullest. Richard leaves to cherish his memory his parents, John R. "Butch" and Sandra Christensen; three sisters, Delores C. Quidley and husband Jimmy (their children, Zane, Evan and Brittany and grandson Rylan), Sherry C. Santillo and husband Joseph (their daughter Angelina), and Jessica L. Christensen; one brother, John R. Christensen and wife Tammy (their children, Lauren, Nikki, Michelle and Christina); and grandmother, Elizabeth Bertha Brown. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emery and Ocie Tolbert. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at the chapel immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
