Ricky Pointer Obituary

Ricky Pointer PORTSMOUTH - Ricky Pointer, 46, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010. He was the son of the late James E. Pointer Sr. and Julia K. Pointer. He served in the United States Army during the Persian Gulf War era and retired in 2003. Ricky leaves to cherish his memory his beloved son, Devin R. Pointer and his mother Rene D. Hayes-Aladenkia; mother, Julia K. Pointer; three brothers, James E. Pointer Jr., Reginald (Michelle) Pointer, and Marvin A. Pointer; five sisters, Sandra Parker (Sherwood), Diane Thompkins, Gail Fant, Julia R. Henderson (Henry), and Kathy Forbes (Crosby); endearing cousin, Freddie Barron; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other loving family and friends. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at New Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 3555 Victory Blvd., with Dr. Martine Spencer of Jonesville Baptist Church, Fairmount, N.C., presiding. Interment with military honors will be at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Family and friends will be received at Corprew Funeral Home, 1822 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 9. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.

Although my heart is filled with sadness for my uncle, gladness will slowly replace this,because I know my uncle is at peace now and forevermore.

thank you to all who supported and encouraged us during this time.
