Romeo Soliven Obituary
Norfolk - Romeo Dasalla Soliven, Sr., 77, dedicated Catholic and retired U.S. Navy veteran passed away peacefully on July 10th 2016.
Romeo was born in the Phillipines to Lauro C. Soliven, and Flora Dasalla. He took great pride in his Filipino heritage, and he carried it with him when he immigrated to America in 1965, settling in Virginia.
Romeo is survived by his loving wife, Victoria Soliven and 3 sons: Roland Soliven 48, married to Maricel, Romeo Soliven, Jr., 42, and Richie Soliven, 36. Romeo Soliven, Sr. is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Romeo Barnett, Brianne Sands, and Keilana Soliven, and 2 sisters, Emma Soliven Rameld, Estrella Soliven Azurim along with 3 brothers, Loreto Soliven, Jamie Soliven, and Benito Soliven. Romeo Soliven, Sr. will be greatly missed by his entire family.
A Christian Wake Service will be held on Sunday, July 17 at 6pm and the viewing will be on Monday, July 18th from 6-9pm at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Dr. Chapel in Norfolk. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 19th at 10am proceeded by burial with military honors, 12pm at Albert G. Horton, Jr., Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
