I waitressed at Ocean Eddie's Tropical Bar on the fishing pier in VA Beach where Scott played weekends when he was still in high school. Tonight I heard one of the songs he used to perform, decided to Google him, and found this sad news. His music made that job one of my best memories, so I just wanted to extend my sympathies to his loved ones.

Already a year, time does fly. I enjoyed watching and listening to Scott and the Fossils. Truly gifted man who passed way before his time. GOD BLESS

Scott was a talented musician. I watch foxes and fossils covers and Scott plays bass ,mandolin, and an assortment of other instruments. He was quite good and extremely a pro at his art. RIP Scott.

A person is remembered for the gap they leave in the world, an Scott's is huge. Thank you for sharing him with us. As a son of a "pick up" musician, I feel like the world has lost a trusted friend. Take care, and volunteer me for anything I might be able to do, in helping you through these very difficult times.

I only met Scott briefly, I directed a music video as a class project for Bareback, a band Scott was in at the time (1984). He was kind, fun and a great bass player with wonderful stage presence. My condolences to his family and so many friends. It´s been sweet to read these fond memories and tributes - I wish I´d known him better.

I never met Scott, but I felt I knew him through his music with Foxes and Fossils. The last year and a half has been a difficult ordeal for many of us, but the music of Scott and his bandmates provided an escape from some grim realities - some comfort and joy. I hope he knew how much that meant to his thousands of fans.

Scott and I were good buddies from First Colonial High School in Virginia Beach 'back in the day' (Billy Parks and his Gibson Les Paul were on the scene too). Scott and I (and Billy for a while) played in Va Beach's danciest disco band, Jasmine, packing dance floors (with people doing Travolta moves) in dance clubs too numerous to mention. Scott and I were great musical pals and great pals in general. I have many good memories, that now seem oh so long ago. I know Scott got to play lots of music over the years, and play it well. Rest in peace old friend. - Andy Kollmorgen

Our lifelong friendship started when we were teenagers with an orange guitar pedal and a Fender Mustang. We lost touch through the years until a couple of years ago when I hunted you down. Man it was good to see you again, I'm just sorry we didn't keep it going, but that was in my plans for the future. I'll miss you greatly Good Buddy.

It has been years since we first met. I introduced you to the pink haired queen and you introduced me to fabulous music! I always enjoyed our jaunts to 2nd hand stores and flea markets. You gave me a wonderful friendship! Rest easy now. My life is better having known you!
