Selma Allison Obituary
Portsmouth - Selma Doris Allison, 87, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012. She was born in Tazewell, Va. on January 8, 1925 to the late Willetta Beavers and Harry Maxwell.
Being raised in the Great Depression, living through wartime, and battling through life's various struggles, Selma never lost her smile and her willingness to help as she could. Selma was a family-centered lady who cared about others with a great passion and fervor that became infectious to those that knew her.
She is preceded by her husband Robert, her sister Catherine, and eldest daughter Ann and is survived by her youngest daughter Pat, her three grandchildren: Donnie, Milissa, and Tim, her two great-grandchildren: Darron and Tyler, and various friends and family who she loved dearly.
Selma is being transported from her home in Portsmouth to Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Va. A graveside service will be held at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Cedar Bluff, VA on Monday at 10:30 a.m.
