Sheryl Hamberg Obituary
Norfolk - Sheryl Griffin Hamberg, 69, went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2018. She is a daughter of Shirley Brown Griffin and the late Edward Grey Griffin. Sheryl, a Norfolk native, retired from Norfolk City Schools, where she taught physical education and health. She was a graduate of Granby High School and Old Dominion College.
Cherishing her memory, she leaves a beloved mother, Shirley, and her sisters, Ginger G. Nilsen and Lynn G. Ashworth. She dearly loved her nephews, Jake, Zach and Seth Schachle and Ryan Nilsen, and her niece, Cori Nilsen. She also enjoyed four great nieces.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 4 until 5 p.m.on Saturday, June 2nd at the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 3rd at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be offered to the family through www.hdoliver.com.
