Stanley Snyder Obituary
Virginia Beach - Stanley Bruce Snyder, 82, of the 5400 block of Wesleyan Drive, died Dec. 8, 2012, in a local hospital.
He was born in Phillipsburg, NJ and was the son of the late Elmer and Caroline Snyder, and the widower of Beryl A. Snyder. Stanley retired from the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. The last ship RMC Snyder served on was the U.S.S. Sampson, based in Norfolk.
Stanley is survived by a daughter, Christine A. Starr and husband Roger of Clifton, VA; a son, Stanley B. Snyder, Jr. and wife Sherry of Windsor, VA; 4 grandchildren, Jillian, Jessica, Stanley B. Snyder III, and Emily; 2 sisters, Geraldine Stock and Betty Lou Noonan; and a brother, Elmer Snyder.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church, 804 Gammon Rd., Va. Beach, VA 23464. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

We want to extend our deepest sympathy to all the family. Clarence and Stan go way back from Phillipsurg High School. We visited with them and they with us here in Charlotte. I remeber Beryl past away in Dec. Sympathy, Clarence and Del Eck.

My deepest sympathy to Stanley's family. We were classmates and for many years we kept in touch by e-mail, both he and Beryl were a delight to know and we would reminisce about High School days. I lost touch with Stan when he moved, so sorry to hear of his passing. May the Peace of the Lord be with you at this sad time. MJ Class of 1948

I owe a lot to this kind man and I will always remember him with a smile. We became very good friends while working at Bell & Howell in Richmond. He taught me what customer service was all about. I will never forget him and his family.
