Tom, Smiley and my wife ,Donna became friends when we were North End neighbors forty years ago. He was a great guy to visit in the evening on walks on the feeder road...always with polite, interesting and entertaining conversations. He introduced me to the phrase in response to "How are you?"..."Not bad for my age and my lifetime of bad habits"... which I used from age 42 till yesterday.
He was a hail fellow well met.
May he be remembered for his kindness and rest in everlasting peace.
I remember him fondly.

Tommy and I grew up together in Blacksburg and I was so sorry to hear of his passing. We were good friends and got into lots of trouble together. Lost track of each other over the years. I live now in Folsom, CA. So sorry.
