William Pennypacker Obituary

William S. Pennypacker Sr.
Virginia Beach - William Stuart Pennypacker, 82, died 24 November 2012, with his family by his side at Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.
A memorial service will be held at Bayside Presbyterian Church on Saturday, 8 December at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the columbarium.
He was born 1 January 1930, in Pennsburg, PA. He began his Naval career in 1950; and while he did many things during those 28 years, it was flying he loved best. His pilot's license waiver for color blindness was always in his wallet.
Those who were touched by his life know the quality of his life exceeds the quantity of time he was given. He was a generous and kind neighbour and friend; he was a tireless worker and supporter for his church; and, he was the finest man his family has ever known.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy, and his birth children; Amy, Bill Jr., David, Dinah, Joe, Mary Lou and his children through marriage; Deborah and Kevin. He leaves fourteen grandchildren; Clint Jr., David, Emma, Eric, Evan, Jill, Joey, Jonathan, Katie, Kelsey, Lucas, Ned, Reagan, Spenser and one great grandchild, Nathan.
Memorial donations can be made to Bayside Presbyterian Church; and in recognition of his generous nature, random acts of kindness for family, friends and strangers are encouraged. We are grateful to those in the Progressive Care Unit who cared for his needs and ours as we walked through the shadow of the valley. We thank friends too numerous to list who kept him and his family in prayer.
