Bill came into my life when I was 16 years old
He and my mom were a wonderful, happy couple always. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a compassionate man. He was a proud Navy man and a true patriot. When living in VA. Beach we would be outside with family and friends and I always remember whenever a plane flew overhead (as they did all of the time no one dare complain of the noise. I can't tell you how many times it was said that the noise is the price of freedom
It made us so proud to be in this great country
Mom left this earth several years ago but now I know Bill is back with her. I'm sure they in Heaven dancing to a country song, being happy to be together again
He was loved and will be truly missed

I had the privilege of serving with MA1 Bill Stockberger when he reported to the precommissioning detail for the Battleship IOWA (BB-61) in 1983, Pascagoula, MS. Bill came back on active duty from the Fleet Reserve. He was a well respected shipmate with whom I enjoyed many liberty calls throughout Central and South America, the Caribbean Sea, and of course Norfolk, Virginia. He and Delores were just down to earth beautiful people. Fair winds and following seas as you sail into life ever after. -YN1 Thomas Smith
