Winslow Bullock Obituary
Chesapeake - 98, transitioned to his final resting place on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 12:47a.m. He was born on May 30, 1917 to the late Edward and Constance Bullock in Washington, North Carolina. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a devoted member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, Norfolk, Virginia. He loved his church and was a participating member in several ministries.
He enjoyed attending mass and he always looked forward to hearing the gospel message proclaim so he could share it with others.
His wife was the Love of his life and his Sons were next, followed by ALL of his family members.
Winslow retired from Navy Public Works Center after 43 years of service with his final position being a Head Mobile Equipment Repair Inspector.
Winslow Bullock was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd & 4th degree and a Past Faithful Navigator; Knights of Peter Claver 3rd & 4th degree and a Past Grand Knight; The Bachelor-Benedict Social Club, Inc.; Past President of the NorPortChes Club of the National Bullock Family; Member of the Southside Civic League, Inc. Chesapeake,Virginia; a Veteran of the United States Army; the South Norfolk Police Task Force Committee and a Former Loan Officer , St. Pius Federal Credit Union representing St. Mary Catholic Church. "Winslow or Honey" as he was affectionately called, loved his family. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Marian A. Riddick Cabarras Bullock; Six Sons, Winslow G. Bullock, Jr. (Kathryn), Edward W. Bullock, Alvin Cabarras Sawyer (Glenda), Charles T. Cabarras, III, Clifton D. Cabarras and Donnell R. Cabarras (Shirley); two brothers, Romeo Bullock (Eula) and Frank Bullock (Francis); and a host of Grandchildren, Great-Grand Children, Great Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Margarite W. Bullock; four sisters, Naomi Bullock Pope, Annie Mae Bullock Dennis, Mary Ella Bullock Hawkins, Ayesha Bullock Muhammad and one brother, John Bullock. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, October 19, 2015 at 12 noon at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, Norfolk, Virginia. Steele-Bullock Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Viewing and Visitation will begin Sunday at The Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception from
4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. with a wake service beginning at
6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at the residence for the funeral service on Monday at 11:15 a.m.
