Darrell Stowers Obituary

Darrell Raymond Stowers Sr., 71, of Shepherdsville, died on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021.
Darrell was born in Princetown, W.Va., on Nov. 17, 1949, to the late Raymond Earl and Gracie Ellen Johnston Stowers. Darrell was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, a union treasurer for Brotherhood of IAM, he was a member of the Romeo Lunch Club. He worked for CSX for 42 years, where he was known as the Whistler and as Mother Hen. He loved his hobbies, camping, cooking and handyman of everything.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Smith Stowers; children, Bonnie M. (John) Gividen, Darrell R. Stowers Jr., Craig P. (Whitney) Stowers and Phillip J. (Brittany) Stowers; grandchildren, Eric, Brittany, Seanna, Katilyn, Evan, Kayley, Autumn, Kara, Luke and Amanda; a great-grandchildren, Cameo; siblings, Phyllis Ellison, Belinda (John) Hart and Gene (Ada) Stowers; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 4, at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home with burial in Brookland Cemetery. Expression of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Stroke Association.
