Florida Mills Obituary
Florinda Gale "Rindy" Mills, 69, of Shepherdsville, KY, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Norton Audubon in Louisville. She was born on October 28, 1955, in Brownsville, KY, daughter of the late Ernest Logsdon and Agnes Louise Spradlin Curry. Florinda was a 1973 graduate of Bullitt Central High School, a military wife of 21 years, and a nurse for 32 years, currently working at Barton House in Louisville, KY. Caregiving came naturally to her, and she never hesitated to help or complained for a single moment. She cared for and rescued people and animals alike. Her gentle hands held people who were going through their best and worst times, but she had a magical way of making the worst moments just a little better. She was a constant teacher and never gave up on you; most importantly, though, she never let you give up on yourself. Florinda was the type of person who was always in your corner. She constantly gave pieces of herself to others and never expected a thing in return. She never missed an event, no matter how big or small, and always made you feel special. There are many instances where she drove across the country to help people make new memories, take them on special trips, be a shoulder to cry on, or simply hold a hand that needed it. When you were with her, you laughed a little harder and loved a little deeper. Rindy was selfless, kind, generous, and showed love and mercy to anything and everyone she encountered. She was a lighthouse to the broken, a constant beacon to those that needed a friend. To know her was to know what love truly is. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bill Mills; children, Holly (Don) Hawk of Ohio, Will Mills of Morgantown, KY, and Danny Mills of Owensboro, KY; siblings, Linda Rae Curry (Chuck Weise), Roger Dale Curry, Odra Twylita Schulz, Bobby Glenn (Terri) Curry, and Lorita Ann (Joey) Lanham; grandchildren, Travis Hawk, Skyler Hawk, Wendy (Cody) Hawk, Jenna Mills, Orrianna Mills, Audrey Mills, Lily Mills, and John Mills; great-granddaughter, Ellie Hawk; a host of friends; and all of the sweet animals she cared for over the years.
