Isaac Thacker Obituary

Isaac "Ike" Marion Thacker IV, 66, of Louisville, passed away on November 10, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Ike was born on October 1, 1957 in San Diego, California to the late Anne and Isaac. He graduated co-valedictorian from Bullitt Central HS in 1975 and earned a bachelor and master degree from Murray State University. As a lifelong bibliophile, Ike's love for books and learning was a central part of his identity as well as supporting many social justice causes and advocating for equality.
Ike is preceded in death by his parents, Anne (Clark) and Isaac Marion Thacker III. He is survived by his sister Kay Christman, brother Eric (Olivia) Thacker, and his cherished nieces Becca Greene and Rachel Thacker, nephews Dugan McElroy and Eli Thacker and great-nephews Liam and Lennon McElroy and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will occur on Sat. Nov. 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Shepherdsville Christian Church, 337 Lees Valley Rd., Shepherdsville, KY. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Ike's honor to The American Civil Liberties Union or the Louisville Humane Society.
