EAST PEORIA - Ann "Pauline" Karcher, 86, of East Peoria, Ill., formerly of McLeansboro, Ill., passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at UnityPoint Health - Methodist in Peoria, Ill.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1927, in Hamilton County to Hugh and Agnes (Mitchell) Dolan. She married Gilbert "Jimmie" Karcher on Nov. 25, 1948, at St. Patrick Church in Enfield, Ill. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 2009.
Pauline is survived by four children, Kevin (Beth) Karcher of Washington, Ill., Karen (Jeff) Kinker of Olney, Md., Kent (Debbie) Karcher of Washington, Ill., and Karla (Doug) Kovarik of Naperville, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Erin Karcher, Nicholas (Amanda) Karcher, Alicia Karcher, Dana Kinker, Katelyn Kinker, Kacy Karcher, Jill Karcher, Kyle Kovarik and Anna Kovarik; three great-grandchildren, Koby, Easton and Owen Karcher; and her sister, Monica Frey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Hugh R. Dolan; two sisters, Maureen Savage and Clarene Dolan; and her foster brother, John Sauer.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth Cetan Society, Hamilton County Home Extension, St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. A Mass of Christian burial will be at St. John the Baptist Church in Piopolis, Ill., at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church or the American Diabetes Association.
