EUREKA - Anna M. Leman, 89, of Eureka, Ill., passed away at 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka.
She was born on May 14, 1924, in Roanoke, Ill., to Theophilus and Rose Belsley Minger. She married Samuel E. Leman on July 20, 1952, in Roanoke, Ill. He passed away on Feb. 3, 1994.
Surviving are two sons, Ben (Janet) Leman of Congerville, Ill., and Tim (Beth) Leman of Morton, Ill.; two daughters, Cynthia Leman of Eureka, Ill., and Bev (Rich) Bertschi of Eureka, Ill.; three sisters, Margaret (Richard) Weber of Morton, Ill., Ellen Ulrich of Eureka, Ill., and Rachel (Martin) O'Malley of Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Michael (Sharol) Minger of Eureka, Ill.; one sister-in-law, LaRae Minger of Eureka, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, Samuel (Marjorie) Bertschi, Stephen (Susan) Bertschi, Lydia Bertschi, Leah Bertschi, Melissa (Matt) Kaufman, Benji (Kyle) Leman, Olivia (Caleb) Zobrist, Nathaniel Leman, Clinton (Maria) Leman, Michael Leman, TJ Leman, Nicole Leman, Victoria Leman; and 13 great-grandchildren, David, Samantha, Patrick and Benjamin Bertschi, Theo, Charlie and Marie Bertschi, Sophie, Lucy and Amelia Kaufman and Parks, Hudson and Rome Leman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Samuel; and one sister, Ruth Hodel.
Anna was known for her kind and serving heart. She enjoyed sharing her passion and talent for baking and cooking with others, especially her family. She will be remembered as a godly woman and a loving and faithful wife, mother and grandmother. Her joy was being with her precious family, church and friends. She was a blessing to all who knew her.
Anna was a member of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke or Eureka.
