Arnold Stoens Obituary

WASHBURN - Arnold E. Stoens, 74, of Washburn died at 4 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at UnityPoint Health-Proctor in Peoria.

Arnold was born March 18, 1941, in LaRose, Ill., to Remijus and Alberta (Daily) Stoens. He married Judy Stanley on July 18, 1987, in Peoria, Ill. She survives in Washburn.

Also surviving are his children, Barbara R. (Richard) Krone of Roanoke, Patty A. (Shelby) Eubanks of East Peoria, Scott (Cynthia) Stoens of Fort Smith, Ark., Timothy (Janel) Folkers of Washburn and Michael (Nata) Folkers of Peru; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard (Erna) Stoens of Peoria; one sister, Edith Tucker of Toluca; and a sister-in-law, Mina Stoens of Toluca.

His parents; one daughter, Sharon Elizabeth Stoens; one brother, Robert Stoens; and one grandson, Scotty, preceded him in death.

Arnold graduated from LaRose High School. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co., after 30 years working at the Mossville Plant. He was a member of the Mason Lodge.

He enjoyed working on cars, woodworking and dancing. He was always willing to help others.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home in Washburn. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Rick Rogy will officiate. Burial will follow at Linn-Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Washburn.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association.
