GALESBURG - Christopher L. Davis, age 34, of Galesburg, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at 10:33 a.m. at OSF Saint Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
Christopher was born Sept. 28, 1979, in Galesburg, the son of Vencon E. Davis and Sandra (Morris) Davis.
He graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1997.
Christopher loved cars and anything else that went fast. He enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR and going to the demo derbies with his Uncle Steve.
Christopher is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sandra and Dave Cox of Dahinda, Ill.; father, Vencon E. Davis; brother, Vince (Nicole) Davis of Verona, Wis.; sister, Rachel (Cory Tucker) Davis of Galva, Ill.; sister, Dayna (Seth) Hart of Elmwood, Ill.; grandparents, Don and Beulah Morris of Dahinda, Ill.; grandfather, David "Leo" Davis; stepsisters, Sue Ellen and Sarah Cox of Arizona; three nieces, Abby, Kate and Payton; and one nephew, Dylan. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Arlean Davis, and nephews, Kaleb and Logan Davis.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Christopher's caregivers, Amy, Roach, Michelle and Katrina.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Ill. Jeff Gage will be officiating the service. Interment will take place at the Westfall Cemetery in rural Oneida, Ill. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville.
