KICKAPOO - Clementine C. Stenger Miars, 103, died on Saturday January 7, 2017, at DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton, Illinois. She was born on August 24, 1913, in rural Kickapoo, IL to Joseph L. & Lucy Loescher Stenger. On May 25, 1940, she married Robert Thomas Miars in Kickapoo, Illinois. They were married for 59 years before his death in 1999. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law: Margaret & Anthony Rudnik of Forest Park, IL; Mary & Dale Rammien of Lisle, IL and Jana and Bill Minor of Batavia, IL. Also surviving her are nine grandchildren: Robin Scharpf, Michele Rammien, Amy Rammien, Diane Minor, David Minor, Michael Minor, Jean Schuely, Beth Knackstedt and Neal Rudnik ; eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Florence Stenger Heinz and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her infant son, Robert Thomas Miars, an infant grandson, Joseph Robert Rudnik, three sisters and two brothers. Clem grew up in rural Kickapoo, Illinois where she attended school. After graduation, she worked at Humitube in Peoria, Illinois for a few years before her marriage. Clem and Rob made their home after their marriage in Brimfield, Illinois. She raised her family and helped her husband with his Standard Oil service station for over 30 years. They were members of St. Joseph Church in Brimfield all of their married life. She was very active in her community and in her church throughout her life. When her husband became, ill, they moved to Villa St. Benedict in Lisle, Illinois. She resided there until 2014 when she moved to DuPage County Convalescence Center. Throughout her life, Clem was known to many for being a wonderful sister, neighbor, friend, mother, and grandmother. She always had time for any friends and family who needed help or just an ear to listen. She taught her children and family about faith, family and friendship and will be greatly missed. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church 9910 West Knox Street Edwards, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass at the Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Kickapoo, IL.
