Daniel Monckton Obituary
PEORIA- Dan Monckton, 69, of Peoria passed away on April 27, 2021, after a battle with cancer. He was born on December 6, 1951, to John and Betty Monckton. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Dick. He is survived by his wife, Jackie (Messmore), and his beloved son Brien. He is also survived by his mother, Betty; his brothers, Dave (Teddy), Mike, Pat (Mary), Bill (Jill); and sisters, Nancy (Rick ) Meyers, Diane (Eric) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. Dan was a retired teamster and school bus driver. He was a die-hard Cubs, Bears and Illini fan. He was also a proud Democrat. His knowledge and sense of humor will be missed by his friends and family. Per Dan's wishes, there will not be a service.

My son Melvin just mentioned him and I searched for him only to learned that he passed 4 years ago. My babies were on his route when I lived in Peoria, they attended Franklin and they always talked about Mr. Dan. Especially when he used to come get them and took them places with him and Brien. We left Peoria in 2012 and have been back in Chicago since. I lost my oldest son Jamel due to a pedestrian car accident in 2016. Melvin and Chayil are both still doing good, but this was definitely another crack in our hearts to learn of Mr. Dan's passing. We send our love, condolences and constant prayers to the family even if we are 4 years late.

I am so sad to learn of Danny’s passing. I was planning to stop and visit him and Jackie in just a few weeks. I have funny memories of our long conversations about politics, food, sports and E bluff gossip when we were neighbors. I will always miss his smiling face My sincere condolences to the entire family. Rest In Peace my friend and go Cubs!

So very sorry for all Dan’s family and friends loss. I had the pleasure of hanging around with Dan years ago. So many laughs and funny stories. I will smile every time I think of Dan. He will be missed.

sorry Dan is gone. We grew up together . Dickie , Dan and I ran around all over Peoria together. We went to St. Bernards then to Central together. Dickie dies while i was overseas . Had not seen or talked to him til 92 when i was in Peoria and happened to talk to him on phone. Never got chance to see him.. At St, Bernards we were a group, Luke Crowley, Jim Vespa, Joe Criuse, Ed Dooley, Jim Van Buiwanee, Steve Parks, Paul Sprague, Will miss my old friens. Dan RIP .

Dan was a very funny guy and had lots of energy . I am sorry for the family and those who were close to Dan. I went to St Bernards with as did my brother Mike who was a buddy of Dan . May you all find peace to through this sad time . Joseph Frazee .
