MINIER - Daniel E. Runyon, 77, of Minier, formerly of Woodhull and Delavan, passed away at 2:58 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Hopedale Nursing Home.
He was born April 9, 1937, in Pekin to Earl A. and Florence M. Tammeus Runyon.
Surviving are two nieces, Bobbi (Lorn) Coggins and Kelby Coggins, both of Minier; three nephews, Donald (Nan) Springer of Minier, Kevin (Missy) Springer of Hopedale and Jacob E. Runyon of Delavan; and several great-nieces and great-nephews; one brother, Robert (Karrie) Runyon of Delavan; and one sister, Betty Trebilcock of Minier.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Daniel worked for Pioneer Seed Company in Morton and Woodhull for 32 years.
He was U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War.
He loved gardening and contest horses.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2015, at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Prairie Rest Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Delavan United Methodist Church or Delavan American Legion Post 382.

What an honor it was to care for Dan during his last days. I will miss his sweet smile. I know he will be greatly missed by all of his loved ones. I pray that God's peace will be extended to all of you and that your memories of good times with Dan will bring you comfort.

Although I have not seen Dan in many yrs,I remember he spent alot of time at Macanaw Dells in goodfield. My sister ,Pat and Don Kear had a boarding stable there,Dan was a great friend, and I am sure much missed.
