EAST PEORIA - Daniel J. Traicoff, 48, of East Peoria died on Friday, May 18, 2007, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 6, 1958, in Peoria to Donald A. and Roberta D. (Volk) Traicoff.
He is survived by his parents of Peoria; his daughters, Danielle Traicoff of Washington and Nicole Traicoff of East Peoria; his sister, Susan (Bill) Morton of Birmingham, Ala.; his brother, Jeffrey (Kathie Fuller) Traicoff of Marietta, Ga.; and his maternal grandmother, Juanita Seward of Peoria. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
He attended Peoria Central High School.
He loved participating in the annual New Year's Day East Peoria Boat Club's Polar Bear Plunge, where he won an award as the highest individual fundraiser for the 2007 event.
He greatly enjoyed NASCAR, gardening, fishing, animals, the outdoors and feeding the wild birds.
He was a self-employed, independent furniture mover, last working on Wednesday, May 16.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria, where visitation will be two hours prior to services. Cremation rites will be accorded after services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Peoria Rescue Mission, TAPS Animal Shelter, or The East Peoria Boat Club's Polar Bear Plunge.
At Dan's request, this ends with AMF (adios, my friends).
