Danny Kitts Obituary
LACON - Danny Kitts, 64, of Lacon passed away Wednesday, April 13th, 2016, at 5:52 am at the OSF Richard L Owens Hospice Home after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Peoria to James and Marion (Chioni) Kitts on Aug. 11, 1951.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Clifton-Kitts of Lacon; mother, Marion Kitts of Lacon; brothers, Dick Kitts of East Peoria and Gary (Darcie) Kitts of Sparland; sisters, Diana (Phil) Molleck of Brimfield and Sharon (Sid) Crabel of Chillicothe; son, Tim (Sara) Kitts of Spring Valley; stepchildren, Tammy (Mike) Beall of Henry, Todd Peabody of Henry, and Tina (Mike) Neisler of Mapleton; 6 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, James (Jim) Kitts; and sister-in-law, Debi Kitts.
Dan's lifelong passion since he was a young boy were his antiques. He continued this passion throughout his life. Dan retired after 32 years at Caterpillar.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 17, from 4 to 6 PM at the Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. A memorial services will be on Monday, April 18, at 10:30 am at the Lacon Congregational United Church of Christ, 205 N. Prairie Lacon, IL. Inurnment will be in Fort Dever Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to The OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com.

To all of dan's family- please accept my condolences. Dan was such a good kid and far too young to be taken from us. Too many kids from the old neighborhood have left us! Brent meierkord

To the family of Dan, Please accept my condolences at this time of sorrow. As time goes by may you have comfort as you remember the good memories of times past. We worked together in the same section for a few years and he had interesting stories about his finds when he was able to salvage the old woodwork, furniture, etc. from old houses and the interesting artifacts that he would find in the pits of old outhouse sites. May God give you peace and strength through this time of loss.

To all of Dan's family, my heartfelt sympathy. Dan and I were classmates and he was one of the funniest guys in our class!! I'll never forget his epic topic in Speech class one day on mice.. Famous mice.. He had us all in stitches, even Miss Barr. But his bravery in fighting cancer is something else. My heart breaks when I think of that. He's at peace now.
