Dennis Newell Obituary
EAST PEORIA - Dennis L. "Denny" Newell, age 56, of East Peoria passed away and was called home at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1959, in Peoria to Amos E. and Shirley (Quick) Newell.
He was preceded in death by his father; one brother-in-law, Dennis LaCost; and one nephew, Dennis Amos LaCost.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley of East Peoria; one sister, Kathy LaCost of East Peoria; one brother, Larry (Margaret) Newell of East Peoria; his fiancee, Lori Anderson of East Peoria; and six nieces and nephews, Chad (Jill) LaCost, Carrie Bruns, Sidni Newell, Gabrielle Newell, Hayden Bruns and Aspen Bruns.
Denny graduated from East Peoria Community High School in 1977. He then went to work for the Amos Newell Bottle Gas Co. in East Peoria, and later for Hohulin Fence Co. in Goodfield. He was a member of the Laborers Local 165.
Denny always loved going fishing, hunting, camping with his family and friends, gardening and his mother's homemade noodles. He enjoyed when his dad took the family hunting for mushrooms, walnuts and sassafras. He deeply cared for his family and friends and would give the shirt off his back to help others. Denny and Lori cared for their dogs, Ebony and Dixie, and cat, Gracie.
Visitation will be today, March 1, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
Memorials may be made to Hooked on Fishing in East Peoria.

Denny, I just talked to Shirley. Thanks for sharing your mom and dad with me, since I didnt really have either one. I know you fought with me cause you didnt want to share. But, jokes on you, because thats one of our fondest memories. YOU will always be one of the brothers (besides Larry) that I never had. I love you!
