Dianna Schmitt-Thompson Obituary
CHILLICOTHE - Dianna L. "Dee" Schmitt-Thompson, 59, of Chillicothe passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, surrounded by family and friends.
Dee was born on Jan. 18, 1959, in Peoria, the daughter of Harold E. and Donna (Gill) Kennedy Jr. She married Thomas L. Thompson in 2000 in Lacon.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas L. Thompson of Chillicothe; a son, Jake (Dan) Schmitt of Pittsburgh, PA; her mother, Donna Davis of Chillicothe; two sisters, Kathy (Rocky) Gardner of Enterprise, OR, and Sandy Bickerman of Canton; two step-sisters, LaDonna (Brad) Stork of Varna and Jo (Steve) Shoemaker of Lincoln; step-mother, Nancy Kennedy of Henry; a nephew, Garrett; and four nieces, Cortney, Jessie, Cassie and Kari.
She was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Mark Kennedy.
Dee worked in the Enterprise Health and Safety Dept. at Caterpillar, Inc. for 19 years. Previous to that, she was a cardiac intensive care nurse at OSF St. Francis Hospital. Dee was a kind and compassionate woman who touched many lives throughout her lifetime. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 18, at noon at Bernardi's North in Dunlap for those who would like to celebrate Dee's life.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dee's name to The A.R.K Humane Society (thearkanimalshelter.org/donation) in Lacon, Illinois.
Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe is in charge of arrangements.
