Dorothy Kidd Obituary
PEORIA - Dorothy Elizabeth Kidd, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Christian Buehler Home in Peoria.
Dorothy was born on November 16, 1922, in Washington, IA, to Harvey and Alvina (Defenbaugh) Hoyle. She married George A. Kidd, C.P.A., on May 30, 1941, in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1973. Also preceding her in death are her parents and two brothers, Dayle Hoyle and Garyld Hoyle.
Surviving are her son, William Harvey (Joyce) Kidd, M.D., of Scottsdale, AZ; her grandchildren, Kristin Kidd-Leska of Surprise, AZ, and Brent Andrew Kidd of the U.S. Army; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey Dean Leska, PO3 of the U.S. Navy, Samantha Ann Leska and Jairus Leska, both of Oro Valley, AZ.
Dorothy was a graduate of the Peoria Institute of Business and she worked for Faber Industries, George A. Kidd, C.P.A., and for Caterpillar Tractor Company, retiring in 1986. She was a member and Deacon of First Christian Church in Peoria, Christian Women's Fellowship, Christian Women United Rainbows, the Professional Secretaries International Marquette Chapter, and a 50-year member of the Creve Coeur Chapter No. 946 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the University United Methodist Church in Peoria, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Paul Arnold will be officiating. Burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis and the Shriner's Children's Hospital. Arrangements were handled through The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. Online condolences may be made through www.thewiltonmortuary.com
