Emma Nickles
PEORIA - Emma L. Nickles (nee Stark), 87, of Salinas, CA, formerly of Peoria, IL, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016, in California.
Born February 3, 1929, in Danville, IL, she married William J. Nickles in October of 1947, and he preceded her in death in 1998. They had two sons during their 50 years together.
Surviving are her sons, Dr. David A. Nickles and his wife, Colleen, of Piedmont, CA, and James J. Nickles and his wife, Valerie, of Peoria; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
She had an extensive retail career. Emma spent many years working for Carson, Pirie, Scott and Co. in several positions at both the downtown Peoria and Northwoods Mall stores. She finished her career with P.A. Bergner Co. in the Sheridan Village store as an area supervisor.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2016, at the Chapel of Peace at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

Nickles family. Emma was my Supervisor at Bergner's Sheridan Village for many years.
She will be missed.
