Forrest Hoffman Obituary
BARTONVILLE - Forrest T. "Buzz" Hoffman, 66, of Bartonville passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at his residence.
He was born on August 1, 1950, in Peoria, the son of Lyle and Mildred (Frazee) Hoffman. They preceded him in death. He was formerly married to Theresa (Burns) Hoffman.
Buzz is survived by his step-son, Tony (Traci) Scachette of East Peoria; daughters, Tami Terrell of Bartonville and Kelly Roberson of Norwood; sisters, Lyla McDaniel of Bartonville and Jo (Tom) Helfrich of Bellevue; and five grandchildren.
He graduated from Limestone Community High School in 1968. He was a Vietnam veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 979 in Bartonville.
Buzz retired from Keystone Steel & Wire, after forty years of service. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and shooting pool. Many will remember the "Buzzie Bank" and "Bank Da 9."
A celebration of life will be on Thursday, November 17, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m., beginning with military funeral honors at 4 p.m. at Dizzy Dean's in Bartonville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Vietnam Veterans of Illinois, 100 West Bittersweet Road, Washington, IL 61571; or UnityPoint Hospice in Peoria.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, Peoria.

I first met "Buzzy" when I started working at Redbrand CU (for Keystone SW) in 1987. He was a wonderful human being and we remained friends up to the end. I moved to MN in 2013 and no longer had the opportunity to see him but have fond memories of shooting pool and chatting with him. He had a place in his heart for animals and fed the strays at the factory. Love you Buzz! Rest well my friend.
