CREVE COEUR - George Henry Button, 62, of Sheldon, formerly of Creve Coeur, passed away at 12:55 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at his home.
Born Nov. 20, 1952, in Peoria to William Henry and Hila (Risius) Button Jr., he married Carrie Blum on July 24, 2015, in Sheldon. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Hila Button of Creve Coeur; two daughters, Sherri Lyn Button of Peoria and Nancy (Josh Conner) Button of Kankakee; one son, Patrick Henry (Eboni) Button of Rantoul; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five stepchildren; one stepgrandchild; seven stepgreat-granchildren; six sisters, Kathy Button Morton, Karen (Michael) Stocke, Sharon Button Sellers, Teri (Dan) Smith, Maggie (Mike) King and Melody Chambers; and three brothers, William (Cheryl) Button, Ronald (Cindy) Button and Michael (Lori) Button.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Button; and one brother, Paul Button.
George worked in the food industry and restaurant management, retiring in 2013.
He enjoyed shooting pool, bowling and being outdoors, especially fishing and camping.
His memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor Charlie McDonald will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

George was a great man. I know the residents at Sheldon Healthcare loved him. He was funny and caring to them all. My condolences to the family and your loss.
