Gloria Hecox Obituary

FARMINGTON - Gloria Madalyn Hecox, 86, of Farmington, Ill., formerly of Burlington, Iowa, passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington.

She was born on May 9, 1927, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Louis and Katherine Bohon Jaster. She married Donald Hecox.

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Janet Hecox of Farmington, Ill.; four grandchildren, Heidi (Jeffry) Ensign, Louis (Tricia) Hecox, James (Emily) Hecox and Karen (Jeff) Cecil; one granddaughter-in-law, Sue Goodwin; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Beulah Zseleczky of Clearwater, Fla.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two children, Kathy Goodwin and Louis Hecox; and one grandson, Dr. Robert Goodwin.

She worked as a licensed beautician and a nursing aide for many years.

Gloria was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed quilting.

Graveside services for Gloria will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Aspen Grove Cemetery, 2043 Sunny Side Ave., Burlington, IA 52601.

Memorials may be made to Farmington Rescue 1100.

Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington is in charge of arrangements.
